📖 Jesus Never Sugar-Coated the Call
In a world that promotes comfort and self-promotion, Jesus gave a different call — a call to deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Him.
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” – Luke 9:23
Discipleship is not a comfortable path — it is a costly journey, one that demands everything.
⚖️ What Does It Cost?
1. Laying Down Your Life
Discipleship begins when you surrender your own plans, dreams, and rights to Jesus.
“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” – Matthew 10:39
2. Carrying Your Cross
The cross isn’t just suffering — it’s death to self. It’s choosing obedience to Christ even when it’s hard.
“Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” – Luke 14:27
3. Loving Christ Above All
True disciples place Jesus above family, comfort, money, and even their own desires.
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me.” – Matthew 10:37
💎 The Hidden Reward
Yes, discipleship is costly — but the reward is eternal.
- Fellowship with Christ
- The power of the Spirit
- A purpose-filled life
- Eternal glory
“No one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much…” – Mark 10:29–30
🔥 Count the Cost
Jesus told a parable of a man building a tower — he must count the cost before beginning (Luke 14:28). Following Christ is not a part-time commitment; it’s a total surrender.
